Today(ish)

On Sunday morning, William came up to me after breakfast, while I was standing in the dining room chatting with a friend who had stayed the night. He interrupted and said, "Mom can you please do me a favor? Can you please go in the bathroom and do your makeup?" I have no idea why he asked me to do that. I think he wanted to play in the closet. Still, I guess I can't rule anything out!

Later that day, we went to a parade with my parents and sister. When the parade was over, all 7 of us squeezed into our Honda Pilot and drove back to the parking lot where they had left their cars. We all said goodbye and as soon as it was just the four of us in the Honda again, William said, "Mom, our Honda is missing some people."

That night, they were able to come over again for a bit and it was a lot of fun. I put the kids to bed while they were still here and we chatted for a while until late. The next morning Will woke up at 7, quite early, and he was crying. When I went upstairs to find out what was the matter, he said, "Grandma and Grandpa and Auntie Erin and Max are all gone, and all my friends are gone." I am so blessed to have family so close. Both sides of our family are dearly loved by (and dearly love) my kids. It is truly one of the greatest blessings in my life.

As of this morning, I have 6 days to go until my due date. I am so excited! Also a little bit nervous, fearful, hopeful.
